We typically start to see snow in Colorado in October, and it doesn’t end until almost April. This year has been different. It is November 11, 2025, and we haven’t seen any snow, not even a flurry.
Does Holy Family want snow, or do we want it to stay away?
We asked the Students and teachers of Holy Family, and they responded with very mixed reviews all over the board.
One student girl said, “No, because it gets really cold, I don’t like the cold, and I really don’t like boots.”
A teacher said, ” We need snow,” and when asked why, he answered, “Because it is Colorado and we need snow.
We went to lunch and asked people. One student said, “Not yet, wait till December because that is when it feels like Christmas.”
Another student said, “Yes, because it can’t be this cold and not snow.”
Another teacher said, “They need it to snow because that is why she moved to Colorado.”
One of our lunch ladies says, ” No, it makes it cold. I am much more of a summer, spring, and fall person. I don’t like the cold. Look at the people wearing sweaters today, and look happy because they probably are happy about the cold and the prospect of snow.
I don’t want to wait for snow anymore. Snow means the holidays are close, we get snow days, and it’s super pretty to look at.
One year here at Holy Family, we had to cancel finals because we got so much snow. That is a positive benefit of snow, and the sooner it starts, the better in my opinion.
Right now, we are only expected to get snow into late November. Next week is the first opportunity on Wednesday, but they could be wrong; we will just have to wait and see.
