The East
The 1 V 8 matchup between the Pistons and Magic brought a shock to the Pistons. Going down 3 to 1, the Pistons had to lock in and they handled business. A very scary first round but Detroit advances.
The Cavaliers Vs Raptors was an fun series as it went to games 7 on high stakes. The Raptors made the series interesting with a buzzer beater to force game 6 but Donavan Mitchell and Jarret Allen was too much to handle for Toronto.
The Heated rivalry between the Knicks and Hawks brought some bad blood between the two teams. New York emerged victorious and the Knicks fans let the whole world know that they advanced.
The biggest upset in the East had the 76ers beating the Celtics. Even with Jason Tatum the Celtics could not squeak out a series win and a early playoff exit hurts any team.
The West
The Thunder and Suns faced each other Round 1 and no surprise the Thunder handled business in 4.
The Lakers vs Rockets exposed some great weaknesses and strengths of each team. The Rockets got exposed bad as a 41 year old LeBron James gave them a whooping and their stars did not show up when it mattered most.
The Nuggets vs Timberwolves was a very disappointing series as the Nuggets seemed to not have a fight in them for whatever reason. Even against an injured TWolves roster the Nuggets still lost and showed some deep roster problems. Christian Braun’s contract was a rushed decision that seems to not be paying of what so ever.
To cap it off the Spurs had a great showcase against the Trailblazers. The young guards on the Spurs are playing at an energetic level that will cause problems this year and the years following for every team in the west. My hop now is that San Antonio gets their first ring since the Tim Duncan Era but that might prove difficult as the remaining teams are very tough.
