The city and general vibe: Coming into Los Angeles the city was massive. I stayed in the heart of the city at the Westin hotel where we could walk to just about every location we went to. Walking around everywhere allowed us to really take in all the scenery, murals, and landmarks. China town was a bit of a disappoint as it wasn’t as big or as architectural as other China towns I’ve heard about from my mom. We walked to a place called little Tokyo where there was heavy Japanese influence and they love Shohei Ohtani. the overall vibe was welcoming and the people treated us well when we were there.
The Food: LA has a crazy variety but we ate at a soul food restaurant called fix-ins right next to Crypto Arena and just looking at the menu of what they were serving I knew it was gonna be good. We obviously got the fried chicken and our sides were Mac & Cheese and cornbread. Some of the best food I’ve ever had was at that restaurant and the sweet tea topped it off. Eating in little Tokyo was also some great food as we got some sushi, chicken, and dumplings.
The sports culture: Staying near the arenas we went to the games and got a good experience. We went to Crypto arena to watch the lakers play the Phoenix Suns and that games started out good but got boring towards the end. since it was the end of the season they were resting some of their starters but we still got a good show from Lebron James. The Dodgers game was a lot more eventful as a good amount of home runs happened and one came near us. The stadium was electric especially when Ohtani stepped up to the plate.
