College lacrosse is a sport that not many people actually follow or watch. Yeah, most people are probably familiar with the sport of lacrosse as a whole, but how many people actually say they keep up with college lacrosse? Probably not many, and this is a shame because this sport is one of the most entertaining sports to watch. It doesn’t nearly get the same attention that sports like football, basketball, or baseball get, but that does not detract from its excitement factor.
This sport is highly competitive, extremely physical, and action-packed. Lacrosse has the best of all sports: It has the physicality factor that makes football entertaining, it is constantly moving and non-stop like basketball, and it takes extreme precision and accuracy like baseball. If you were to take the best parts of all three of the most popular sports in America, you would be left with lacrosse.
College lacrosse offers a nice change of pace as well because the colleges that are normally good in sports like football, basketball, or baseball are sometimes not that great in college lacrosse. For example, let’s look at the top 10 schools in the nation right now for men’s college lacrosse: UNC, Notre Dame, Princeton, Syracuse, John Hopkins, Richmond, Harvard, Virginia, Penn St. Army West Point. With the exception of Notre Dame, all of these schools are not the best at football. With the exception of UNC, most of these schools are not very good at basketball. This aspect of the sport makes it really fun to watch because you get to see schools that usually don’t succeed in the bigger sports be really successful in lacrosse. It’s a nice change of pace because we don’t have to watch the typical schools like Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, and Georgia, which are good at all sports.
College lacrosse not only offers an entertaining side of sports that most people have never even seen before, but it also gives the chance for smaller, lesser-known schools to thrive and succeed in this area
