The Denver Nuggets have been struggling in their games. Starters continue to face injuries and even bench players are still injured. Camden Johnson is still fighting his ankle injury and Aaron Gordon is still out with his hamstring strain.
Our rising star Peyton Watson was diagnosed with a hamstring strain leaving our primary bench scorer out. Our roster has been regressing after a promising performance from our bench that carried our record when all our starters were out. Peyton Watson lead the charge and averaged over 20 points a game and him being out is a big loss for the team.
Big losses in the Western Conference hurt our placements in the upcoming playoff. Losses to the Clippers, Warriors, and especially the Thunder hurt players and fans alike. The game against the OKC Thunder was a nail biter as the Nuggets seemed in control but fumbled late in the game. Overtime came and some drama broke out when Lu Dort cheap shotted Nikola Jokic and a brawl ensued. The Nuggets lost the game but it was close without Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson. Opportunities were there but Cam Johnson missed some big threes to take the lead. Camden Johnson is still learning the team dynamic and needs to develop the team chemistry before the playoffs arrive.
Another recent game against the Utah Jazz deceased the confidence in the team as a struggling Jazz only lost by three points with good performance from the stars. The loss against the Warriors hurt as well because Jokic had a 35 20 10 triple double and lost to an injured Warriors lineup. Brandin Podziemski of all people had a legacy game and beat us in the final minutes.
The Nuggets are struggling and need something to get them back in contention and get a higher seed for when the playoff start.
