What was your journey to becoming rodeo queen?
“So basically, I’ve had, I’ve been going to the Boulder County fair since I was, like, a baby with my family, and it’s always been a really big part of my life, and I always just wanted to give back to my community home. I’ve always just wanted to give back to my community and help the younger generations, like, learn about rodeo and kind of be able to have some of the same experiences that I was very blessed with being able to have. So, I decided to try out in the summer of 2024. I was very blessed to get the position, and it was a really fun experience. It got to meet a lot of interesting people and make a lot of connections that are really gonna help me in my future plans”
What was your favorite part of being rodeo queen?
“I joined 4H when I was seven, so about 10 years ago now, and I joined originally because I, my grandparents’ neighbors, always, their grandkids always showed pigs, and I always thought it was really cool. So I decided, my parents, I could do it when I was seven. So I got, like, a really cheap show pig and showed her her name was Lil Gal. And now, I’ve been showing pigs for last year, was my ninth year, so this will be my 10th year showing. ”
What are your horses names?
“My horses names are Reno and Strawberry Shortcake”
When did you join 4h and why?
“My favorite part about being rodeo queen was probably just meeting a lot of different people from a lot of different backgrounds, and I was at stock, so I got to meet people from other countries and different states, and I thought it was really interesting, ’cause a lot of people didn’t even know that Boulder County had her fair in rodeo. So it was really cool to just kind of share my experience in my passion for agriculture, with other people.”
What are your future plans when it comes to 4h and rodeo?
“My future plans are to get to major in biology and then go into pre vet, and, um, I also want to continue my rodeo career in college and maybe get on a judging team for livestock in college.”
