Hf girls’ soccer season ended last year with a staffing restructure, two weeks before the start of playoff. This year, we are hoping to have a better season. This season will start of untraditionally as our coach will be gone until the week of tryouts, leaving the seniors to lead preseason, and get the team ready for the season ahead. We have Ms. Disberger stepping in as our assistant coach, also helping the seniors lead offseason, pushing us to be better. Tryouts this year will take place the week of February 24th.
We will play a total of between 16 and 14 games, split between home and away. We play teams in 3A and 4A. We play D’Evelyn, Stargate, Jefferson Academy, The Classical Academy, Cheyenne Mountain, Frederick, Mead, Silver Creek, Niwot, Skyline, Palmer Ridge, Centaurus, and Peak to Peak throughout our season.
League games every year are the most important; the teams in our league consist of Mead, Skyline, Centaurus, Silver Creek, Niwot, and Fredrick. Last year, we went 2-4 in the Granite Peaks League and were 6-11 overall. This year we are hoping to improve.
We won the state championship in 2021, and the expectation to win again every year is still very present. We work every year to return to state playoffs and to every round after, including the state championship. Every year, we set goals that the team hopes to reach. This consists of fighting for the state, improving in one way every season, and working for the future you hope to have in the program.
This year we have something to fight for, after the rebrand, to be better than we have in past years.
