Q: Do you prefer teaching or being the Dean?
A: There are good things about both. I love teaching. I did that first, right? Being the dean is definitely a different role. It can be challenging, but it also gives you more, in some ways, more insights into what the reality is that some of the kids are dealing with, you know, and the good and the bad in a lot of ways. And sometimes we’re helping kids who are having the worst day they’ve ever had, even though it’s not that big a deal in the scheme of life.
Q: What was it like attending Holy Family?
A: Holy Family was a different place, but it was a good place still. It was harder in some ways because you guys deal with stuff like social media, which means you never really get away from school, but in some ways, like the old-fashioned bullying and that kind of stuff, was more present in the old school.
Q: What is it like now working at the school you used to attend?
A: I enjoy it, yeah. It’s been years, and I still love it.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about Holy Family?
A: I think that we… It has that family atmosphere, and that we can be witnesses to the faith, you know, that we can try and help students and help kids and help peop0le on their path, I would also say it’s, it is that family, but it’s also that we can be open about our own faith to help kids on their own path and help students, you know, and they can help us. We’re working together, trying to help our students encounter Jesus Christ.
Q: Do you like working alongside your brother?
A: Yeah, obviously.
I was in 108, and we were in 111 for about 16 years before I was the dean. So we were close. We used to carpool together all the time. It was fun. And it’s fun still, you know? Pete and I are super close.
