We finally have snow here in Colorado. It is the beginning of December, so two months late, but at least it’s here. Not only did we get snow, but we also got a lot of snow, about 3 inches of snow, and it is still snowing.
It started snowing at about 2:00 am and is expected to continue till about 3:00 pm today. The amount of snow is thus continuing to grow and will reach about 4-5 inches.
Holy Family got back from their Thanksgiving Break on Tuesday, December 2nd. There were rumors of snow and the hopes of a snow day rising amongst students and teachers. We woke up this morning to the news of a 10 am start, with hopes of them pushing that to a snow day. They did not, so school will be from 10:00 am to 2:45 pm.
We were close to beating Colorado’s latest snow record even farther into December. This year, we didn’t get snow till December 3rd. The latest in Colorado history is December 10th in 2021, with the latest before that being November 21st. This year, we were seven days off from the latest in history. Think about that.
Snow is a Colorado staple, just something you always expect every year. The ski resorts rely on snow for business, and skiers rely on snow to partake in their favorite activity over the winter.
This is very unusual, and a lot of people have been waiting a long time for snow; well, it is finally here.
