With the debut of College Basketball, there are many high expectations for the incoming freshman. There were many great performances by the young athletes. The college games are filled with excitement and rivalry, making it one of the best sports to watch. Of course, the top recruits did excel our expectations, but only a few went above and beyond on the basketball court.
#3 AJ Dybantsa – BYU
The top recruit out of high school excelled in his first collegiate game. AJ Dybantsa had 21 points in the season opener. He showed his flashy elite scoring ability and his calmness and poise under pressure. AJ Dybantsa led BYU to a touch win over Villanova, 71-66.
#2 Darryn Peterson – Kansas
Darryn Peterson, coming out of Prolific Prep, showcased why he is a top NBA prospect. Darryn had 21 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Darryn led the talented Kansas team to a win over Green Bay 94-51. Peterson did a great job of controlling the pace and scoring efficiently in his debut at Allen Fieldhouse.
#1 Koa Peat – Arizona
Out of all the new freshman recruits, Koa Peat has one of the best debuts ever by a freshman. Koa Peat had 30 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals, and one block. Koa Peat helped Arizona win a tough game against the reigning national champions, Florida, 93-87.
The NCAA is filled with young talent and is looking like a bright future for the basketball era. The game we know is changing and is slowly turning to the young talents of the basketball world. These skillful recruits are the future of the basketball era and are constantly changing the game as we know it.
