NFL Round 1 Playoff Predictions

NFL Round 1 Playoff Predictions

The NFL regular season has officially ended, and the playoffs are set. The Ravens and 49ers both clinched the 1 seed and a first round bye in their respective conferences. The last week proved to be exciting and the match-ups are exciting.

In the AFC, the 2 vs 7 match up has blowout potential. The Bills play the Steelers, and the Bills have been playing the best football of their life. They face Mike Tomlin’s Steelers without defensive superstar T.J. Watt. I’ll take the Bills anywhere, anytime, any way they want. In the 3 vs 6 match up, Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins take a visit to KC as he returns to Arrowhead and faces his old team, the Chiefs. The defending Super Bowl champs are not their same team, as they have had a huge drop problem this year. The Dolphins have had a surgical Tyreek Hill will cover videographer's salary after NFL suspensionoffense, and although they lost this past week to the Bills and choked the division title away, they were missing key offensive play-makers in Jaylen Waddle and Raheem Mostert. I hate betting against Patrick Mahomes, but I’m going to have to take the Dolphins in this one.

In the 4 vs 5 match up, and arguably two of the most electric teams right now, the Browns and Texans is sure to be a crazy game. Joe Flacco is back like he never left, and C.J. Stroud is a sure lock for Rookie of the Year. Offense wins games, but defense wins championships, and I’m going to have to take the Browns defense over the Texans offense in this one.

In the NFC, things changed a lot in terms of seeding in the last week. The Cowboys were able to clinch the NFC East Title with an incredible choke job from the Eagles, and the 2 seed. They play a familiar foe in the 7 seeded Packers, and have a history of losing at home in the first round to the Cheeseheads in the north. History repeats itself, and I’m going to take it again. The Packers have a glimpse of Jordan Love’s potential as he has been playing lights out the past few weeks. The Packers own the Cowboys, and I’m looking for them to continue the trend. The 3 vs 6 match up is going to be one for the ages. The Lions are hosting a playoff game for the first time since 1993, and they play the Rams. The Lions and Rams recently traded Quarterbacks, and it has proved to be a successful trade for both teams. Matthew Stafford to play in Lions' first home playoff game since 1993Matthew Stafford returns to Detroit, facing Jared Goff who he replaced. These two explosive offenses are sure to put on a show, but I’m going to have to take the Rams in this one. They have way more playoff experience, and the Lions are a young team who are missing rookie superstar tight end in Sam LaPorta. The Rams are my dark horse team to make a deep run, with two rookie standouts in Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams. When they’re hot, they’re hot, and you don’t want to see this Rams team when they’re hot.

In the 4 versus 5 match up, the once top seeded Eagles visit the Buccaneers. The Eagles had one of the hottest starts to begin the season starting 10-1, but lost 5 of their last 6 to end the year. The Buccaneers won their division with a 9-8 record, but are a very underrated team. The Eagles are obviously favored, but have many injuries and are on the coldest streak in all of football. I’m going to take the Bucs to upset the Eagles in this one.
