The 2022 girls golf season is nearing an end. Tomorrow, 5/24, will be the Regional tournament at Quail Dunes Golf Course in Fort Morgan. Holy Family is sending Jessica Mason, Ansley Schnelle, Liesel Heitz, and Finley Holmes to compete. So far, this is the biggest and most important tournament of the year. This tournament is a qualifier for the 4A State Championships, which is scheduled to take place  5/31-6/1 at Tiara Rado Golf Course in Grand Junction.

It has been a great season, and Holy Family has a good chance at qualifying for State as a team. Windsor and Riverdale Ridge will also be bringing strong competition, and the leader board will be fun to watch throughout the tournament.

This will be Heikke Nielsen’s first Regionals as a high school coach, and he optimistic for everything that tomorrow will hold. “Our team is ready. They have spent the better part of three months preparing for this moment to make it to the state tournament and succeed,” he says, “The moment won’t be too big for them either. Our practices and team rounds have been much harder than what they will experience tomorrow, it’s time to execute and have fun!”
