2021 Girls Basketball Preview

Maggie Dooley, Staff Writer

The past three years, the girls basketball team has made it to two final four games and one championship. Last year the tigers had a talented and athletic team, but after losing their five starting seniors what will the upcoming season look like for the team?

Although the team lost their starting five players, they are left with six returning varsity players who have had the opportunity to learn with and play alongside the previous seniors. Coming up from the JV team are five more seniors; some of whom have had the chance to swing and even play in varsity games. Completing the tiger’s varsity team is a transfer who has had a lot of experience playing on varsity for the Erie tigers.

These twelve tigers combined have tons of talent and tons of experience.

The team has started open gym, lifting, and scrimmages and are looking strong. The tigers went undefeated against Monarch and Broomfield in their scrimmages last week. This week the tigers will travel to Ralston valley for another scrimmage where the hope to continue their winning streak. The first game will be at the Horizon tournament on November 30th.

As they continue their preparation they continue to show their strengths and are looking to continue to make it far in the playoffs this year.
