Fight Night: UFC 300 Prelim Predictions

Fight Night: UFC 300 Prelim Predictions

With UFC 300 being such a large event I have decided to make my predictions on the Prelim fights as well as the main card. The event will be taking place on April 13th and the fights I am about to talk about will begin at 6:00 PM MST, prior to the start of the main card. The even better part about this as well is it is free to watch on ESPN! So make sure to tune in and see how I do.

Starting off the Prelims is Sodiq Yussuf vs. Diego Lopes. I am officially on the Diego Lopes hype train, in his last two fights Lopes has been on fire getting a first round knockout and first round submission. Although Yussuf can be dangerous He hasn’t really been fighting and through his time in the UFC he has been a little iffy. I believe Lopes grappling will be to much for Yussuf and he will get a submission to lead off the Prelim.

The next fight is in the Women Bantamweight division between Holly Holm vs. Kayla Harrison. Unfortunately this fight had to be made for marketing and unless Holly Holm pulls off a Ronda Rousey level fight there is no chance, and unfortunately she is about 8 years past the ability to beat Kayla Harrison. I think unless a miracle happens Harrison absolutely walks through Holm securing a big win on the Prelim.

Career Highlights | Aljamain Sterling | UFC

Now into an absolute banger of a fight is Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling. The fact that Sterling is even on the Prelim seems disrespectful but hey I’m all for it. After holding the bantamweight belt for around three years his first fight after losing it will be against Calvin Kattar. I believe Sterling comes in with a vengeance like we have not seen and rolls through Kattar with absolute zero issues. Although Kattar can be dangerous I just don’t seem him getting it done against one of the arguable greatest bantamweights of all time.

The last fight of the prelim card is a matchup between big hitters in Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksander Rakic. Personally I believe that Jiri will win this fight. He is most recently coming off a loss to the current champ Alex Pereira but before he was knocked out the fight was actually extremely even. Rakic on the other hand most recently lost to Jan Blachowicz and hasn’t fought even close to the level of competition that Jiri has. I do think this fight may be competitive but and Rakic can win if he gets it to decision but Jiri is an elite finisher and I don’t see this fight going the distance.
