With the first tournament of the 2022 Holy Family girls golf taking place this Thursday on March 31, 2021 state champion and colligate commit Jessica Mason is sure to draw tons of attention with her impressive skills.

How long have you been golfing?

I started playing golf competitively when I was about 12 years old after I quit gymnastics, though at that time I did not know if it was my passion yet. I found that out when I won my first tournament and realized I really enjoyed it and could be good.

How did you get into golf?

I got into golf because of my family and brother. I have been surrounded by golf my whole life because my brother started really young.

What are your future plans for golf?

I plan on playing for Pomona College in Claremont California.

What is your favorite favorite part of golfing?

My favorite part about golfing is meeting new people when you play and I like playing in tournaments (when I’m playing well).

Who is your biggest inspiration in golf?

My brother really inspired me to play golf when I was younger because I saw how good he was. Now watching the pros play like Nelly Korda inspires me because I watch and see how incredibly talented they are and how much work they put in.

What are your goals for this season?

My goals for this season is to win state again individually and improve as a team.

What are some notable stats from last year?

Last year I won every tournament I played in and won state by 10 strokes.
