Mary’s Mountain Cookies is a cookie shop first opened over 25 years ago by Mary Johns in Northern Colorado. They sell cookies, ice cream, cookie dough and more sweet treats. The cookies that were tried for review were chocolate avalanche, fudge swirl, snickerdoodle, almond, s’mores and brownie.
In first place we have the almond cookie – I rate this cookie a 10/10 because it is a classic favorite at Mary’s Mountain. It has a simple sugar cookie base with almond frosting with sprinkles. It’s the perfect combination of cookie and frosting.
In second place we have the chocolate avalanche – I give the chocolate avalanche a 9/10. The chocolate avalanche consists of two chocolate chip cookies filled with chocolate frosting. I give it a 9 because the vanilla avalanche is the only one that gets a 10. The chocolate was a little much but this cookie was still good and not overly sweet.
In third place we have the brownie – This brownie is a 8/10. It wasn’t dry and it was made well. It had a lot of chocolate, but the fact that it wasn’t too sweet and it had lots of flavor balanced it out.
In fourth place we have the s’mores cookie – I give this cookie a 7/10. This cookie is a s’mores flavored cookie base with a marshmallow and graham cracker on top drizzled with chocolate. It was tied in rating with snickerdoodle but is higher on the list because it’s a unique cookie. Other than it being unique the cookie itself was made well, soft, and a great cookie for you if you’re a s’mores lover.
In fifth place we have snickerdoodle – This cookie is a 7/10. Snickerdoodle is a classic cookie but isn’t higher on the list because it was just a little bland. There was nothing that made this snickerdoodle cookie special especially because it was almost a $4 snickerdoodle cookie.
In last place we have chocolate swirl – I rate this one a 5/10. I don’t have much to say about it other than it wasn’t a good swirl. I don’t recommend.
