Daniel Caesar released yet another fan-favorite album just this past week. Fans have been going crazy and are excited for the future with Caesar.
Daniel Caesar is a very underrated artist involving R&B. Daniel Caesar was born in Toronto, Canada, and has been on the rise lately. Known for his angelic vocals and emotionally raw songwriting, Daniel Caesar is beginning to climb the hill. Some of his most well-known songs are “Get You” and “Best Part”, earning Grammy recognition. With Daniel Caesar’s new album, Son of Spergy, more and more people are starting to listen to him.
Son of Spergy is by far one of the best albums that I have ever listened to. The album consists of 12 songs, but obviously, there is always a top three.
Honorable Mention: Root of all Evil
This song talks about the struggles between doing what’s right and giving in to bad choices. Daniel reflects on how easy it is to lose yourself. My favorite lyrics are “Good of my heart, where will it lead, it’s only a door, for people will leave me.”
#3 Touching God (Feat. Yebba & Blood Orange)
A soft, emotional song about wanting to feel close to something bigger, including love or faith. The voices blend beautifully, making it feel dreamy and deep. The lyrics that best resonate with me are “I was going so crazy, couldn’t run, I know there’s a God that’s withholding His help.”
#2 – Baby Blue (Feat. Norwill Simmonds)
Daniel sings with his dad in this gentle track. It is about family, love and learning to forgive.
#1 – Emily’s Song
A heartfelt thank-you to someone from his past. Daniel shares how that person helped him grow and understand himself better. The best sounding lyrics that sound beautiful are “Why don’t you answer my calls no more? Is it something that I’ve said?”
Daniel Caesars new album is a masterpiece and you must give it a listen.
