This is an official unbiased ranking of the top 5 teams in the NFL through 8 weeks.
5. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles come into every season with high expectations. Coming off a Super Bowl win, the Eagles started very strong with four straight wins. Weeks five and six were tough losing at home against the Denver Broncos and at the New York Giants. These two losses are the reason the Eagles aren’t higher on the list.
4. Buffalo BillsĀ
The Bills has a very similar story to the Eagles with the high expectations. They also started the season smoking hot and looks untouchable, until the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons had something to say about it. Although these are mad loses, I believe these are flukes and the Bills will end toward the top of the AFC.
3. Green Bay PackersĀ
The Packers have had another good start to a season under Matt LaFleur. A strange loss to the Browns was very weird to see, but besides that game they have been strong. Jordan Love is leading a good offense, and the defense led my Micah Parsons. Being the second-best team in the division is nothing to be ashamed of.
2. Indianapolis Colts
Nobody would have believed the Colts would have started this 2025 season like they are. An offense led by Daniel Jones has been impressive to say the least. A 7-1 start is the best start since 2007 when Peyton Manning was the quarterback. There lone loss coming against a good Rams team is no reason to feel bad about a loss. Being second on this list is very good for the Colts.
1. Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions have had another good start to the season. The first loss of the season came in week one against the Packers, but the rookies didn’t seem prepared at all. Ever since then the team has looked really good. This team is very well-rounded and seem ready to win a third straight NFC North Championship if they can stay healthy.
