Super Bowl 60 is taking place in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The halftime performance this year will be performed by Bad Bunny.
The past three years shows were good, with last year’s being Kendrick Lamar, who performed his most popular song “Not Like Us” directed at his feud with Drake. The year prior, we had Usher, who was on skates and danced and sang around his stage with special guests: Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., will.i.am, Lil Jon, and Ludacris. After Usher, we had Rihanna, whose performance was good; she was talked about for months even after. She also made a big announcement to the crowd through her performance. Most people’s favorite happened in 2022, however, with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and 50 Cent. They had to change their music to be appropriate for audiences of all ages at home; however, they still did amazingly and kept the audiences entertained.
Bad Bunny’s songs are all in Spanish, causing controversy among Americans everywhere. Bad Bunny is American and has every right to perform at halftime. He will be performing all of his Puerto Rican music because that is his culture and how he got famous.
We interviewed some people here at Holy Family to see their opinions. One student talked about how, “I am actually excited because his music is good”. Another person said, “I will probably not watch it because I don’t know any of his music, but I am not angry because he is American.”
For the people who are protesting and angry, they just don’t need to watch the halftime performance, because he is American, he has every right, and honestly, their protests aren’t going to do anything. The NFL has already announced the show, planned the performance, and already planned the money cost for the performance.
