Senior Ditch Day is a time-honored tradition amongst high schools everywhere. They usually wait to schedule their ditch day in the spring, closer to when they graduate. It is a reward for the Seniors and all the hard work they have put into their school for the past few years. They have all almost made their final decisions on college, are planning for the future, a nd are nearly done with high school.
At Broomfield High School, after hosting a school dance, they observe a senior ditch day the following Monday. We here at Holy Family have a school-sanctioned Senior Ditch Day, which the school plans. It is a mandatory attendance-taking day that the school has sanctioned.
On our Senior Ditch Day, they schedule a picnic for us at the school. We have to attend school on our ditch day, where they have us be on the football field, and we just hang out. At about noon, we are allowed to leave but not sooner. At this point, it is just a half day.
However, although it is not a traditional skip day, it will still give you a lasting memory of your senior year. You get to hang out with your friends, with food and drinks, and games. It could be viewed, if you are open to it, as a field day like the ones you would have once a year in elementary school. You just play games and hang out while still having fun.
