Q. What’s one thing you’re really passionate about right now, and why does it matter to you?
A – I’m passionate about my friends and my senior year. Your only a senior once so I wanna have the most fun. We are all going to college soon but like have that relationship for when we come home from school.
Q. What is one skill you would like to improve this season?
A – Ok probably in volleyball and in life my patience because actually I get so rage baited so easily that I need to like relax and also not taking everything so seriously.
Q. How do you balance your sports commitments with academics and other activities?
A – My main thing is like obviously showing up for practice and not letting academics like take over my volleyball like I would never skip practice because of school. Just like when I go home doing all my homework like finishing everything the day I’m assigned it otherwise I will get behind but my main thing is just never getting behind school work. Like a missing is a no no in my house and like keeping all A’s and B’s like anything below a B in my house is not allowed.
Q. Can you describe a time you overcame a significant setback?
A – Probably my surgery. Well my first one was in 8th grade so not like a super important year but I missed out on club. That summer going into freshmen year was the first time I had been on the court again and that was nerve-wracking because I wanted to do good for like high school obviously. I think mine in sophomore year was just like a mental thing because it was frustrating obviously and your in high school and you wanna do so many things with your friends but you cant because you literally cannot move your body. So I think that was my main set back and I wasn’t really focused on school because I was focused on getting better even though I expected to get better within like a day and that just wasn’t realistic.
Q. Beyond the game, what has the Holy Family High School volleyball team taught you?
A – I think its taught me that a good team I can be honest with my team and that volleyball is not that serious like I don’t know I think right now volleyball is like my relationships I have with my teammates rather than the outcome of the game that we have been having.
