The week leading up to Homecoming 2025 is always spirit week for the students and teachers. This year the spirit days were:
Monday – Dynamic Duos
Tuesday – Students Dress Like Teachers
Wednesday – Past vs. Future
Thursday – Anything But A Backpack
Friday – Class Colors
The Spirit Days are always chosen by the current student council team with the help of teachers. Spirit is always such a fun week to dress up with your friends and show school spirit, always loved by the students. Dynamic Duos is a classic with so many options to dress up as with friends. This is the second year Holy Family has done anything but a backpack for a spirit day. Students showed up with fun items such as laundry baskets, coolers, strollers, guitar cases, and golf bags. But, many students decided not participate and just brought a regular backpack to carry their books. Class Colors on Friday has been a tradition for many years where each grade wears their class colors. Freshman wear yellow, sophomores wear purple, juniors wear white, and seniors always wear black. This is a great opportunity for seniors to show off their black senior jeans and wear them to school. With Holy Family having a dress code, Spirit Week is much more fun because it is a chance for students to not wear their uniform and show off each of their unique styles.
As well as the spirit dress code, at the end of the week the students participated in Powderpuff and the Homecoming Pep Rally of Friday. Powderpuff was on Thursday afternoon and the girls participated in a flag football game with their respected grades, coached by the boys. Each game is played on half of the football field. The first games were the seniors vs. the freshman and the sophomores vs. the juniors. After the first game the seniors beat the freshman and the sophomore’s upset the juniors in a big win. Next the juniors beat the freshman and the seniors crushed the sophomores, making the seniors the clear overall winners of the 2025 powderpuff.
The Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday consisted of practicing cheers for the football game, led by Gracie Ward. This turned into a competition of who could recite each cheer the loudest, which again the seniors won. The Pep Rally also consisted of competitions including a half court shot contest, a game of knockout, and a tug of war competition. The Rally ended with sophomore Conley Williams promoting the Homecoming football game that Friday night which Holy Family ended up winning by one point.
