Holy Family High School opens it’s home football season on Friday against the Roosevelt Roughriders.
Emma promises to be the most exciting game in matchup of this year, which is a great way to start the season. Last year the matchup between the Holy Family and Roosevelt was at Roosevelt where the Tigers were defeated and were devastated after the game. The Tigers are eager to face the Rough Riders once again, since they haven’t been able to defeat them. But this game has both meaning on and off the field.
The first game of the season has caught great attention in Colorado as it been nominated to be game of the week for 9News To win Game of the Week, students have to vote to see which match they would like to see featured on the news during the daily broadcasts. Teachers and staff are highly encouraging students to vote. Last year the Holy Family and Roosevelt match up was game of the week so it’s highly expected to win the vote to be the game of the week again. Being game of the week would put more pressure on athletes as the spotlight in on them and people from all Colorado will be able to see the game and results but would also provide great motivation to be able to beat the Rough Riders.
The atmosphere will be even be more special since the game will also be Military night. At the end of on the game Veteran’s will be honored that are connected to the school community. Families, alumni and students see this as a tradition to show respect and gratitude to those who have served in the from the Holy Family community.
Students and parents are expected to come show support for our the home opener as it will showcase a great game and unity in the Holy Family community.
