HFHS Volleyball has lost five seniors this year. With the team in previous years going to regionals and state, this past year was a big change. Not only did the team have a rough record, they ended up not making regionals. Going into the 2025 season, the HFHS Tigers are determined to come out victorious, and make it to regionals.
After the team faced many hardships last year, the new 2025 volleyball team has set some goals going into the season. The main goal is going into the season, with drive and passion, to end up in regionals during post season. Also, with the team losing five seniors, they have recruited five new teammates. Kate Fisher, a junior setter. Carrissa Lim, a junior libero. Jes Hoffman, a sophomore middle blocker and Reet Sandhu, a sophomore libero. These new Tigers, are coming into a world filled with pressure and commitment. Will these newbies deal with the pressure, or let it overpower them?
Not only is there new players on the varsity team, but their is three new coaches in the program. Coach Mari is the new varsity assistant coach. She previously played beach and court volleyball before coaching. Coach Fletcher, many people may know her for being a counselor Holy Family, is the new JV coach. And last the new coach in the program is former 2025 senior Gabby Hebert’s mom! Even though many of the coaches have changed, Coach Gallas and Coach Autumn still remain the coaches for their teams.
The varsity team had their first game on Thursday against University. Even though they put up a fight, almost winning a set 24-26, they ended losing in three sets. Even though the Tigers did not win, they are still driven to win their game on Tuesday against Golden, at home.
These girls have been putting in the work since the beginning of August. Each girl on the team is determined to come out victorious this season. Perseverance is a main trait for this team. Even though they did not play how they wanted to last season, their setting that aside, and coming into the 2025 with many goals they want to complete.
