With the upcoming 2025 Ryder Cup next month at Bethpage Black on Long Island, the USA Captain Keegan Bradley has six spots left to fill.
The players that have already qualified are world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele, U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun, Russell Henley, and Harris English. Capt. Keegan has many decisions to make regarding the remaining six spots. He also needs to decide if he wants to play and be a captain or give the spot to another player to compete for Team USA.
Justin Thomas and Colin Morikawa are almost certain to be on the team which leaves Brian Harman, Ben Griffin, Maverick McNealy, Andrew Novak, Cameron Young and Patrick Cantlay with a possibility to still make the team. So, who will Keegan take?
Thomas and Morikawa will most likely make the team. In my opinion the four remaining spots should go to Griffin, McNealy, Young, and Cantlay.
Griffin has been super solid all year long earning top 10 finishes in both the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. He also has nine top 10 finishes all year. These reasons make him a lock for the team in my opinion.
Ever since missing the cut at the Masters, Young has been playing well, missing just one cut and having four top 10 finishes. He came into the season with high expectations and has only living up to them as of late.
McNealy is a quiet name on the PGA tour but has played super well the whole year. His steady attitude and humble appearance will bring a great player to team USA.
For the last spot, Cantlay deserves the last spot because of his experience in the Ryder Cup and for playing super well also.
This team is super well rounded with the best player in the world, the longest hitter in the world, and players who have been steady throughout the whole year.
