Bradley Cheadle was just another high school senior, counting down the days to graduation and scrolling through Instagram like the rest of us. But one impulsive $5 decision later, he wasn’t just another senior anymore—he was the guy who won a Corvette. And if there’s one thing high school has taught us, it’s that nothing brings out the new batch of friends quite like a free sports car.
It all started with a casual ad promising a dream, win a Corvette, all for the price of a Taco Bell burrito. Bradley didn’t think twice, he put in his five bucks. He bought in, and shrugged it off not expecting anything from it and kept going about his life. A couple of weeks later his phone lit up with a FaceTime call from RevvedSupply on Instagram. “I got some good news for you brother. You’re taking home a C8 Corvette and $10,000.”
Bradley admitting he was skeptical “I thought it was a scam, so I didn’t believe it at first”. But as the phone calls kept coming and the official tax paperwork arrived, reality started sinking in. This wasn’t just an Internet catfish, it was happening. The sweepstakes company booked flights for him and his dad, flying them out to Ohio to claim his prize. At that point, the disbelief faded and seemed as if it was all too real.
Upon landing, Bradley was picked up in a massive truck and driven to the sweepstakes warehouse. “It was an automotive paradise” Bradley claimed. It was lined with customized sports cars. Audi R8s, GTRs, Camaros, every kind of dream machine imaginable. Then came the moment of truth. Microphones were clipped on, cameras rolled, and Bradley got his first glimpse of his Corvette.
“It was awesome,” he said. “They recorded me seeing the car for the first time, then put me in a Lamborghini Urus so they could film me driving it.” A surreal experience for just entering five whole dollars.
Back home, reality hit in a different way. The high school halls were suddenly filled with newfound interest in Bradley, when everyone heard it at first we didn’t believe it either. I remember hearing people would say, “You’ll get the Corvette but you might be missing a kidney,” or “You really just won a Hot Wheels car.” But soon enough, on April 15, we heard the roar of the engine and its custom exhaust rumble through the parking lot with its vibrant yellow color.
If only Bradley had won it before the Senior Superlatives he would have for sure won coolest car. But I am sure it will still find its way into the yearbook somehow. Bradley plans on using all the money for college, and keeping the car for summer and zipping around Broomfield until he heads off to Australia for college to study business.
So if you happen to see a vibrant yellow C8 Corvette with carbon fiber bits everywhere pulling into the lot, you better know its Bradley. Bradley Cheadle went from senior to legend, all thanks to a $5 chance and a whole lot of luck.
