Welcome back after a not-long enough spring break. I hope you all had a fantastic break but now let’s get into what airline is the best to take a flight on Southwest or United. Over spring break I took a trip to the Cayman Islands.
Normally we fly Southwest for everything but this time we went United because Southwest doesn’t fly to the Cayman Islands so I have experienced both United and Southwest Airlines and I’m here to give you the most accurate and honest comparison so on your next fight you can pick the best option.
One of the biggest bonuses about flying Southwest is the free seating you can choose anywhere you want to sit on the plane without worrying about being in a certain place or not liking the seat you have now. The only downside to this is when you’re in a C group and the only seats left are middle seats.
Now if you choose to fly United Airlines you get assigned seating which was honestly a blessing in disguise for us flying back from came in because of the assigned seating we didn’t have to worry about having to sit in the back of the plane. This was a game changer because we ended up being 20 minutes late for this flight coming back from came in and because of the assigned seating we ended up not having to be at the back of the plane which is a real game changer if you’re someone who’s always running late for flights but this leads me into another great point Southwest offers upgrading your boarding pass to A1 through 15 so if you end up being stuck in a c group you can upgrade.
Let’s talk about another big distinguishing factor between Southwest and United the free bags. Although Southwest is going away from free bags as of now, they still allow you to have two free checked bags, whereas with United you do have to pay for your checked bags unless you are a premium member or you’re flying internationally.
The last and final big difference is the seating. Being someone who loves Southwest, having free Wi-Fi Southwest onboard movies are awesome cause I was able to watch them on my phone. Now we found United. We got to have our mini TVs where we could watch movies shows and play games and they even have a special mode for kids. This was nice because I could watch a movie and play on my phone and if you’re on a long flight this is a game changer.
Hopefully, this helped you and now you can pick between United and Southwest for your next flight.
