At Holy Family High School, the Holy Family parking lot was a peaceful place. It’s an unwritten rule that the seniors have a rite of passage, a privilege earned through three years of blood, sweat and tears. But this year, something was different. The juniors had started to encroach on this hallowed ground, and it was making the senior class very very upset.
One rides an e-bike to school, which wasn’t unusual in itself, but he seems to insist on parking it in the “senior lot”. To make matters worse, he took up an entire parking spot with his small, two-wheeled vehicle, much to the frustration of the seniors who struggled to find a place to park their cars when we drive a full sized vehicle.
“I showed up extra early today, and I still couldn’t get a spot because of him,” says senior Nina.
We were ready to claim their spots, only to find an e-bike parked smack in the middle of a prime spot. This news spread quickly throughout the senior class. “Who does he think he is?”
“That’s our spot!”
“He’s not even a senior!,” says another Alorah Hosker.
Along with this E Bike intruder we have many other juniors who are encroaching on our spots. One of many drives a Tesla, its weird it seems like its only the people who are driving Electric modes of transportation.
Besides some kids who drive 4 Runners, Honda Accords and many other kids that think they are cool enough to be apart of the cool seniors that we are. They need to put in their time here at Holy Family before they are allowed to park where we do. Some will say first come first serve but that’s not how it runs around the Senior class this year, we’ve been here for four years and the least we can have is our parking.
