The Grammys took place February 2nd with comedian Trevor Noah returning to host for the Grammy’s for his fifth year.
Lots of donations went to L.A. wildfires and “In addition to celebrating the best in music, this year’s show also focused on the devastating wildfires that burned through neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area last month, killing at least 29 people. Throughout the show, Noah reminded viewers and corporate sponsors alike to donate to relief efforts, and air time was given to local business owners who lost their establishments in the fires. A group of Los Angeles County firefighters was invited on stage to present the final award of the night and got a standing ovation from the crowd.”
Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX and Sabrina Carpenter all gave performances.
Beyoncé won best country album of the year, Cowboy Carter. Chappell Roan won the best new artist award and Kendrick Lamar won best song and record with, Not Like Us. The best Rap album was from Doechii with “Alligator Bites Never Heal and Best Pop Album, Short n Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter. Shakira had best latin pop album and die with a smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with the best duo group performance.
“The 2025 Grammy Awards has been called out after Beyoncé took home the award for Best Country Album — with many viewers saying it was “not deserved.” And RadarOnline.com can confirm as expected, the reaction to the singer’s big win was decidedly mixed.”
Many beloved other country artists were more worthy of this Grammy such as Chris Stapleton. She is not considered country enough to win.
One person tweeted: “Beyoncé does not deserve to win a Grammy for Best Country Album. Cowboy Carter is not an authentic Country Music Album. The Grammys are a complete and total joke.”
Another agreed: “Beyoncé winning ‘Best Country Album’ at The Grammys is pretty much all you need to know about The Grammys and the current state of country music.”
