With Super Bowl 59 going down in two weeks, we are going to be ranking the last 10 Super Bowls for how entertaining they have been:
Coming in at #10 was Super Bowl 53, where the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3, making it one of the lowest scoring Super Bowls we have seen. Not much to say with only 16 points between the two teams and one touchdown it made the game almost unwatchable and by far the worst Super Bowl in the last 10 years.
Number 9 was Super Bowl 55 where the Buccaneers beat the Chiefs 31-9. Despite the star power, the game was one-sided, with the Chiefs unable to score a touchdown. Patrick Mahomes was under constant pressure, and the Buccaneers’ defense was relentless. The lack of competitive balance made it less thrilling. While Brady’s performance was impressive, the game lacked dramatic tension.
Number 8 was Super Bowl 50, Broncos vs. Panthers: The Broncos defeated the Panthers 24-10 in a game defined by strong defense, particularly from Denver. Von Miller and the Broncos’ defense harassed Cam Newton all game, resulting in a low-scoring affair. Peyton Manning’s last game was more about the defense than offensive fireworks. The game was relatively close but lacked the explosive plays that make for high entertainment.
Number 7 was Super Bowl 54. The Chiefs made a dramatic comeback to win 31-20 over the 49ers, scoring 21 points in the fourth quarter. Patrick Mahomes led the charge, overcoming a 10-point deficit with big plays. The game had a mix of strong defense and explosive offense, particularly in the final minutes. The 49ers had control for much of the game, but the Chiefs’ late surge provided excitement.
Number 6 was definitely Super Bowl 48 where the Seahawks dominated the Broncos 43-8, with a stunning defensive performance. Seattle’s defense, known as the Legion of Boom, shut down Peyton Manning and the high-powered Broncos offense. The game featured a safety on the first play and a series of big defensive plays by the Seahawks. While one-sided, it was entertaining due to the dominant performance and unexpected nature. It was a showcase of defensive prowess.
At number 5 was Super Bowl 56 where the Rams beat the Bengals 23-20. The game was kept close all game and ended with a Cooper Kupp scoring a game winning touchdown. Joe Burrow had a chance to go and tie or win the game but was not able to convert on 4th down to end the game.
Number 4 was Super Bowl 57 where the Chiefs beat the Eagles in a very back-and-forth game. The Chiefs ended up winning 38-35 with a game winning field goal to end the game. This was the start of the Chiefs winning back to back Super Bowls and going for a three-peat this year in the Super Bowl.
Number 3 was Super Bowl 52 when the Eagles beat the Patriots in an entertaining. game between Brady and Nick Foles. This Super Bowl is all known by the Philly special on 4th and goal where Nick Foles caught a touchdown pass overwhelming the defense. The game was entertaining and high scoring and Tom. Brady kept it close until the Eagles finally beat them.
Number 2 was Super Bowl 49 where the Patriots won 28-24 in a game that came down to a dramatic final play. Malcolm Butler’s interception at the goal line prevented the Seahawks from scoring a potential game-winning touchdown. The game featured back-and-forth scoring and a memorable fourth-quarter comeback by the Patriots. The controversial decision to pass instead of run by the Seahawks added to the drama. It was a nail-biter with a memorable finish.
And the Greatest Super Bowl in the last 10 years was Super Bowl 51 Between the Patriots and Falcons the Patriots made an incredible comeback to win 34-28 in overtime, overcoming a 28-3 deficit. Tom Brady led the charge, resulting in the first overtime in Super Bowl history. The Falcons dominated the first half, but the Patriots’ resilience and dramatic plays turned the tide. The game featured numerous records and unforgettable moments. It was a testament to perseverance and excitement.
Hopefully, this year’s Chiefs vs Eagles will live up to some of these recent years games we have had. It will be a rematch from two years ago and a chance for the Chiefs to win three straight Super Bowls.
