Happy New Year!!!
This year of 2025 is going to be an exciting year! For one, it is the quarter of the century. There are also many events that are going to be taking place throughout the year both at Holy Family, in the United States, and throughout the world.
On January 9th, former president Jimmy Carter, who died on December 29th, 2024 and born on October 1, 1924, was buried. Jimmy Carter was the 39th president, he served from 1977-1981, and he was part of the Democratic Party. Former President Carter received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his work in finding peaceful solutions to international conflicts.
The funeral took place at the Washington National Cathedral, and he is buried in Plains, Georgia where 80 years of his 100 year life. All the living former presidents attended the funeral: Former/Elect President Donald Trump, current President Joe Biden, and Former President’s Barrack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
On January 20th, Former President and President-Elect, Donald Trump will be inaugurated into office. After the 2024 election which was formally Trump v. Biden, it then became Trump v. Harris when Joe Biden pulled out of the election. Trump won with 312 electoral votes, winning both the popular and electoral votes. 
At Holy Family, this year will be the graduation of our Seniors, along with the welcoming of the incoming class of 2029.
This year is the Jubilee year for Catholics. This event is important for Catholics because of the significance it has. It will take place in Rome and there are year-round events that are taking place.
There are many more events occurring this year all around the world, and this is just a sneak peek. I wish you a great year of 2025 and hope that you make the best of it because 2026 will be here before we know it.
