The dance Super bowl is exactly 10 days away and here is what we know. On Friday the schedules have been sent out and it will go Game day live, spirit program game day, game day semis, open jazz semis, D1 Pom semis, d1 and d1a jazz prelims. On Saturday it will be game day finals, open hip hop semis, D1 jazz semis, D1a Pom semis, D1a jazz, open Pom semis, D1 hip hop semis, D1a hip hop semis, open jazz finals, D1 Pom finals.
Last year we were blown away with Minnesota and Ohio states Jazz. With Minnesota’s insanely hard technical routine with turns straight into an aerial and Ohio’s beautiful story jazz leaves most people having debates on who should win. The scores were very close with Ohio taking first place (98.9) and Minnesota taking second (98.4) and LSU taking third (96.7). This was LSU’s first year taking on jazz and didn’t absolutely beautiful.
In Hip Hop LSU left all of our jaws on the ground. They danced to Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson. LSU and UNLV have very intense rivalry and often are going back to back every year. Last year LSU placed first (97.2) UNLV placed second (96.4) and Memphis placed third (95.5). UNLV has been very quiet and has not posted any updates about how nationals season is going and none of the dancers have posted anything either. LSU on the other hand has been very vocal. The Tiger girls have been very active on TikTok and have been posting a lot on how their nationals season has been going. With that being said on Instagram all of the tiger girls have changed their profile picture to M&M’s, and one of the girls had theirs as Britney Spears and then changed it to a M&M. Some people said that they will be doing hip hop to Eminem and jazz to Britney Spears.
Even though Minnesota didn’t win in the Jazz genre they did take home first in Pom. Minnesota came in first (98.4) Ohio in second (97.7) and Penn state in third (96.4). Ohio’s Pom was definitely my favorite with their Pom music mix and the changing skirt they did at the end of the routine. This year unfortunately for Ohio state their Pom has been leaked. At an Ohio State women’s basketball game they posted on TikTok and a video of their routine and lets say they have a surprise for us involving their Poms.
