This past weekend the Holy Family Varsity poms team attended the Chsaa Spirit Competition. They competed against 16 teams in the 4A poms divison. These girls were up bright and early at 4:50 a.m. in the morning to get ready to compete at 8:25 a.m. Finals were announced at 10:30 and only four teams would be advancing to the finals. Once it hit 10:30 Holy Family would be making it to the finals, as well as Windsor, Standley Lake, and Roosevelt. The HF Tigers would be going into finals at third with the Standley Lake Gators at second and the Roosevelt RoughRiders at first.
At 3:50 the Holy Family Poms team went first in finals and left a solid and hard-hitting routine on the floor. The final results came through and the HF Poms team secured second place with Roosevelt finishing first. The HF Varsity Poms team has been an official team since 2022 and has made history coming as runner-up in the 4A Pom division. Considering the fact that the Tigers has placed third at the past two state meets, it feels good coming home with some hardware.
The Holy Family Poms team has gone through many big bumps in the road this season with injuries and illness. Seeing the team be able to make changes so quick and adapt to these changes is a champion mindset. Every single girl on that team has fought so hard to make it this far. Even if we are not coming back with the color we wanted it is nice to come back to Broomfield with a trophy.
I am the last person to be an OG club member. It was originally just a club my freshman year and we performed at a couple basketball games and that was it. Being able to watch this program grow more and more each year makes me so excited to see what the future holds. I hope to come back and coach someday and get that state title as a coach.
