Watching Christmas movies is a wonderful way to get in the holiday spirit. Looking at some of the most famous Christmas movies, here are the top five best Christmas movies in my opinion.
Christmas Movies for the Holiday Spirit
Christmas is here, and to get into the festive spirit, there is little better than watching some absolute classical Christmas movies. Here are a few recommendations that, without fail, bring into your holiday celebrations a bundle of warmth, joy, and a touch of retrospect.
- . Christmas Vacation
Christmas Vacation is ranked number one on my list because it’s a funny movie and watching it is a Christmas tradition for me and my family. The movie makes you laugh and it consists of many funny and loveable characters. If you have not yet seen this movie, I absolutely recommend watching it.
2. The Polar Express
“The Polar Express” follows a young boy on a magical train ride through the North Pole. I put the Polar Express at number two because it’s animations are enticing and I love the vibe of the movie. It brings anticipation and excitement for Christmas that everyone craves.
3. Home Alone
This is the ultimate family favorite, as one can well guess: The story of an eight-year-old, Kevin McCallister, accidentally left behind by his vacationing family. Kevin uses all his wits and courage to defend his home against two stupid burglars. With all its hilarious moments and heart touching scenes, “Home Alone” is a movie worth watching for all age groups.
4. Elf
Elf is a hilarious and heartwarming story about finding one’s identity, starring Will Ferrell as Buddy, a human who was raised by elves in the North Pole. Buddy travels to New York City to locate his biological father, which he does with much laughter, adventure, and a message about family and holiday cheer. I love Elf because Buddy is such a cute character that has some pretty funny lines. The movie is definitely original.
5. The Grinch
The Grinch has made it on the list because the movie never gets old. The plot is timeless and I love watching it over and over again. The original Grinch was so good, and then the animation version made it even better. This movie teaches a valuable lesson of Christmas, and that is it’s not all about the gifts but rather about community and family. It’s a lovely way to view Christmas and to value your family and tradition.
Whether you are watching solo, with family, or friends, these movies will surely fill your heart with holiday cheer and make your season merry and bright. So grab some hot cocoa, and enjoy these festive films!
