A week after the disaster in Valencia, the streets are still being cleaned and there are more than 2,000 missing.
Every day that has passed more bodies have been found but there has also been events that could be considered miracles.
The one was that there was a woman stuck in her car for three days without food and water. Her car was filled with water and her clothes were sucked. By the grace of God she survived and people found her and were able to get her out.
The another was that volunteers who were cleaning the streets, from the debris and mud, found a baby, alive and healthy, but, they did not find the parents. This is a miracle because if the baby was on the street that meant that it had been taken by the water but somehow survived.
Along with these miracles, there has also been tragedies.
As already mentioned, there are more than 2000 people missing and only around 200 reported dead.
In Valencia there is a shopping mall called Bonaire. In this mall, the flood carried many cars and other debris. As of three days ago they started sending scuba divers to scout out what was at the bottom. No information has been given but one can imagine the amount of bodies that lie there.
The streets are full of debris, mud, and contaminated water. Volunteers are helping clean and they wear masks in order to not breath in the contamination. Volunteers are from all ages. One woman, on a video about the volunteers has called the youth the Iron Generation to say that future is bright because the youth are coming to help. Our friend from Madrid, who is a teacher, took her Junior class to Valencia to help clean the streets. Many from around Spain are coming in order to provide food and help.
Many families in Valencia and nearby towns are suffering because of those missing and also the loss that this city and towns have gone through.
Valencia and nearby cities are in desperate need of help and one way we can help is by praying for them and being grateful for what we have here.
