Mr. Kubistek comes back home

It is always nice when alumni come back to grace us with the gifts.

Holy Family had plenty of turnover this spring into the fall, and one face we can all recognize is Ben Kubistek. He joins the Mathematics Department teaching Algebra.

“This place is something special to me,” Kubistek said.

Kubistek is a 2006 Holy Family graduate and he met his future wife here Dyana Gutierrez (Class of 2007). Proof that is is a small world, Dyana is Mrs. Gutierrez’s daughter. Mr. Kubistek enjoys seeing his mother-in-law in the halls everyday and spending more time with her.

Mr. Kubistek has been teaching for nine years, including stops at Prairie View, Weld Central and in Nebraska.

One of his fondest memories in his time at Holy Family was winning the Class 2A state title against Faith Christian. He took his love of the game into the coaching realm and has been a part of multiple coaching staffs, including here, Erie and back in Nebraska.

“Maybe eventuaully, I would like to coach football (here),” he said. “But I have four kids right now and the youngest is one year old.”

When talking about Holy Family Mr. Kubistek finds joy.

He explained that as the years went by the love for HF grew more and more. “Its so cool to see all the teachers that taught me still be here and now I’m collegues with them,” he said.

Mr. Kubistek is happy to be back at Holy Family and looks forward to building relationships with both the students and the faculty.
