Football season is back and with it comes the thrill of fantasy football. No matter the type of league you play in you can always look at another draft guide. Building the perfect fantasy team is difficult and requires precision in every round.
The first round is the most important round you will draft and can lead to a season championship or a last place finish. The consensus #1 overall pick is Christian McCaffrey, because of his #1 runningback finish last year and his overall skillset that he holds it is a no-brainer. If you don’t have the first pick you will likely be choosing an elite wide receiver. This would consist of players like CeeDee Lamb, Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson, AmonRa St Brown, and Jamaar Chase. All of these players are good picks and should perform very highly in their current situation. Other First-round options would be Breece Hall, Bijan Robinson, and Saquon Barkley who are 2 high-quality runningbacks after Christian McCaffrey. To round out the first round I have picks like Puka Nacua, AJ brown, and Garret Wilson.
My opinion on first-round order:
- Christian McCaffrey
- Ceedee Lamb
- Tyreek Hill
- Bijan Robinson
- Breece Hall
- AmonRa St Brown
- Jamaar Chase
- Justin Jefferson
- Saquon Barkley
- Aj Brown
- Garret Wilson
- Puka Nacua
Your rounds following all depend on your first pick. If you have a running back in the first round you most likely want to take a wide receiver to start to balance your team. The same goes if you have a receiver you should draft a high-value running back. Running backs here consist of Issaih Pacheco, Kyren Williams, Jonathan Taylor, Travis Etienne, and Jahmyr Gibbs. Receivers consist of Chris Olave, Micheal Pittman jr, Devonte Adams, and Mike Evans.
Following the second round the best strategy is to fill out your team’s wide receivers and running backs first. Players like tight ends you can get in later rounds because there is not much difference between the elite and non-elite. Players like quarterbacks are weird because you can use an early pick like 3rd to 5th round to get an elite dual-threat quarterback. The best options here are Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, and Jalen Hurts. But you can also hold off until later rounds to take an average quarterback who will still perform well for you in fantasy. In the ending rounds of your draft, you should start drafting your defense and kickers. The difference between the best and worst here is not very different so you shouldn’t stress about these sorts of picks.
Fantasy football drafts are not very hard especially if you follow this guide but also trust your gut and pray that no one on your team gets hurt.
