In the spring Holy Family’s athletes have been doing very well. There track and field team, girls tennis team, boys lacrosse, and girls lacrosse teams all made the state playoffs. They all had very good season and played well enough to earn there spots in these respective postseasons
Girls Tennis
Kenna Dietz Raelynn Pickup were Colorado Class 3A state champions. They took on Vail Christian one of the most disliked teams in the state. They beat them 6-4 and then 6-2. Congratulations on a great season.
Annabelle Kenny was a Colorado Class 3A runner up at No. 2 singles as she lost to D’Evelyn. She lost 6-2 and 6-1. She battled hard and never gave up. She had a very good season as she just missed all of basketball season with a knee injury and was able to come back and place second. Congratulations on a great season.
Avery Alderman and Lauren Stonehocker were runner ups in the Colorado Class 3A championships at No. 1 doubles. They lost to Colorado Academy 6-1 and 7-5. They fought really hard and almost pulled it out. In the second set they were up 5-2 and let the game slip away from them. It was a very close game. Congratulations on a great season.
Boys Lacrosse
The boys lacrosse team was the 13th seed and earned themselves a home game. They finished the regular season 10-5. In the first round of the 3A playoffs the boys beat the chirpy Pueblo West 12-3 and then they had to take a long bus drive up to Vail to play Battle Mountain. They lost in a very close game to them 10-6. Congratulations on a great season.
Girls Lacrosse
The girls lacrosse team also had a very solid season and earning themselves a home game as the 14th seed. They finished the regular season with a record of 10-5 as well. After they beat the Pueblo West they took a trip up to Vail and also played Battle Mountain where they lost 15-4. Congrats on a great season.
Track and Field
The state track meet takes place this Thursday-Saturday but many athletes have qualified. Holly Ambuske, Kylee Schlepp, Shea Owen’s, Emma Sedlock, Claire Tannehill, Alexis Mendlik, Bella Rossi, Griffin Eastman, Johnny Nguyen, Chris Johnnieds, Aidah Stoll, Kenzi McIntosh, Piper Jones, Libby Ley, James Grothe, Gil Perez, Garret Smith, Parker Nelson, Anabella Descalzo, Katherine Ryan, Lilly O’Neill, Adam Tapp, Johnny Nguyen, Michael Dooley, Kaila McCracken, Ava Busot, Jaxon Grable Brady Lindoerfer, Monte Samaras, Sofia Mazzulla.
