Usher preformed the halftime show at the 56th super bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Fransisco 49ers were the teams that played in the super bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs ended up taking the victory in overtime. Although this made for an exciting game, the halftime show also was a big part of the super bowl.
Ushers halftime performance proved that after 30 years in the business Usher is still the king of R and B music. 45 year old Usher announced his new album “Coming Home” just a few days before his performance. This brought a lot of wider into the peoples eyes about what songs he was going to preform. Usher preformed a large range of songs, choosing 11 of his favorites. He opened the show by parading up stage up the stage with acrobatic dancers while he sang his song “Caught Up” a 2004 hit. He then turned it over into his song “U don’t have to call”. Then he sang “Superstar” before moving into his so called “dance anthem” “Love in this Club”. He brought out his infamous moonwalk during this song. The cows went crazy when he brought out his moonwalk as that is what he has been known for in the past. Next he brought out Alisha Keys and they preformed their duet “My Boo”. After this is when he performed some of his main hits such as “Confessions”, Burn”, and “You Got it Bad”. The singer H.E.R who appears on Ushers new album, came out and preformed a guitar solo during the song “Bad Girl”. Usher then closed out the show with his song “Yeah” alongside his helpful creators Lil Jon and Ludacris.
Usually the guests brought out during the halftime show create a lot of excitement. Usher brought our Alisha Keys first. She appeared on stage with an all red sparkling dress playing a matching red piano that matched her dress. She began with her 2003 hit “If I Ain’t Got You”. She then joined Usher for they duet performance. The artists H.E.R and will.i.am joined them both on stage for the performance of “OMG” Usher then ended that performance by skating underneath will.i.am’s legs. The last two guests that were brought out were Lil Jon and Ludacris. All of the performers helped User end the performance with his hit “Yeah”.
During the performance Usher wore a bejeweled suit made by Dolce and Gabanna. Throughout the show he shed his outfit piece by piece For his second outfit of the night he wore a royal blue Off-White outfit. The outfit had 340,000 crystals that he wore while he roller-skated through the stage before he changed into a pair of custom chrome Air Jordans made by the Shoe Surgeon.
