This year the 66th annual Grammy Awards was held in Los Angeles California. The award show took place on Sunday February 4th. The 2024 Grammy’s were marked by moving speeches, record breaking wins, and viral moments both onstage and offstage. America’s top celebrities and influencers all attended the event. Dua Lipa started the show with her new song to kick off the night.
Taylor Swift made history at the show winning her fourth album of the year. She said she was “unbelievably blown away”. She was awarded this year for the album “Midnights”. Making this her fourth Grammy on top of winning album of the year on “1989”, “Folklore”, and “Fearless”. When Taylor got awarded the Grammy she announced her new album coming out in 2024. Some people took this as Taylor making the show all about herself but some saw it as a great opportunity to announce her new album. Taylor expressed her gratitude for the award and said “For me the award is the work” All I want to do is be able to keep being able to do this. I love it so much.” She then gave a speech saying “This is the happiest moment of my life”. She also mentioned her great success with the Eras Tour in 2023 and thanked everyone that has helped her along the way. 
Miley Cyrus was also recognized for her artistic talents. Miley won her first two Grammys on Sunday night after releasing music for 15 years. She took home the award for best pop solo proformance for “Flowers” in her eight album. She also won record of the year for the same song “Flowers”. She went into the Grammys with 8 nominations and came out with 2 wins. Miley shared “With no luck, he sat down the ground, he finally let go, and he surrendered. And he was OK that he wasn’t going to capture this beautiful butterfly,” she shared. “And right when he did, is when the butterfly came and landed right on the tip of the nose.”z” This song, ‘Flowers,’ is my butterfly,” she said in closing before proudly holding up the golden statuette. She shares her story and how her father helped her along with her music career. The day after the award show she posts on instagram thanking her fans for allowing her to have this career. She also thanks her sister and her boyfriend for helping her in her journey. After accepting her second award she shared a dance with Billie Ellish and says “This award is amazing but I really hope it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday,” she began her speech. “Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy but everyone in this world is spectacular so please don’t think that this is important.”
