This past weekend we had the pleasure of the X-Games in Aspen. We started off with Woman’s Snowboard Slopestyle which includes park features and big air jumps. In this event Mia Brookes from Britain took first with and insane score of 97.66. In case you dont know this is rated out of 100 so this is a nearly perfect score. Kokomo Mursae from Japan took 2nd with an impressive 94.33 which was still a very good run but she just couldn’t beat Mia Brookes. In third place also from Japan Reira Iwabuchi scored a solid 92. In this event Mia not only took Gold but she also became the first women ever to land a 1440 in the event.
The next event is going to be Women’s SuperPipe with a return of legend Chloe Kim. In the event none other than the goat Chloe Kim took first with an astonishing 96.33. In second place was Mitsubishi Ono who scored a 87 and in third place Xuetong Cai with a 83.66. You can see just in the scores the utter domination that Chloe Kim had in this event.
Knuckle Huck was up next which is arguably the best event in the X Games just because of the creativity and uniqueness of it. If you dont know what Knuckle Huck is its an event where you go down the super jump run but dont actually hit the jump you go off the side and huck yourself off of the knuckle and try to do the craziest trick you can come up with. In first place was Liam Brearley out of Canada. Surprisingly the knuckle huck king Zeb Powell took second. Many think that Zeb got robbed but I personally think that it was a well deserved victory from Liam. Darcy Sharpe out of Canada took 3rd place with a very good run.
The next event was another very exhilarating event in Men’s Ski Big Air. This is always a very exciting event as its people just trying to throw the craziest trick they can on the biggest jump in all of X Games. There wasn’t any crazy high scores in this event with the number 1 spot going to Troy Podmilsak from the US with a score of 86. IN second place was Alex Hall also from USA with a score of 85. Daniel Bacher took the 3rd place spot with a score of 70.
The next event is one of my personal favorites in men’s snowboard superpipe. This is one of my favorites because of the sheer height the boarders can get out of the pipe. In this event the goat Scotty James took the first spot with a fire score of 93. Scotty showed up rocking boxing glove lookalikes which added probably 10 points to his overall steeze. Ruiz Hirano from Japan took second with a solid score of 87. Kaishu Hirano took 3rd with another solid score of 86.33
This isn’t all of the events but it is some of my personal favorite performances and events from this weekend. There were obviously many more events over the weekend which you should go give a watch on youtube.
