Taylor Swift is the 33 year old artist that has skyrocketed with fame since she was a teen. She has just finished her “Eras Tour” that covered 146 dates across five continents. After she has visited Europe, Asia, and America the fans still want more, so she has added more dates in late 2024 in the United States. As of November 2023 this was the highest-grossing tour of all time and has an over 1 billion dollar revenue. Over Taylors career she has had six tours, and the “Eras Tour” was the biggest and most successful by far.
Taylor’s quick claim to fame made it easy for her to be put into the spotlight, however sometimes in a bad way. In 2009 at the VMA’s Taylor won the award for best video for a female artist, Kanye West stormed the stage, took the microphone and said ““I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time! One of the best videos of all time!” Kanye was referencing Beyonce’s recent video “Single Ladies” and the video that accompanied it. Everyone was taken back by Kanye’s actions and the disrespect he showed to Taylor. Everyone began to “boo” him while he was still on the stage. This was all over social media and was highly discussed in the media following. Kanye was seen at the function chugging a bottle of Hennessy on the red carpet. In the photos from the night you can see the amount in the bottle slowly get lower and lower, resulting in everyone assuming he was heavily intoxicated. Taylor and Beyonce were both recorded crying backstage shaken up by the situation. Taylor composed herself and still continued to preform her new release “You Belong with Me” on the stage that night.
Speaking of Kayne West, Taylor also had a public drama with Kanye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. The feud began back in 2016 when Kim released a recorded phone call claiming that Taylor gave consent for Kayne to include vulgar lyrics about her in his song “Famous”, where he mentions what happened at the VMA’s in 2009. At the VMA’s in 2014 Taylor and Kim were both seen supporting Kayne which made the public assume the feud was over. However Taylor told Rolling Stone ‘I’m standing in the audience with my arm around his wife, and this chill ran through my body.realized he is so two-faced. That he wants to be nice to me behind the scenes, but then he wants to look cool, get up in front of everyone and talk badly. And I was so upset. He wanted me to come talk to him after the event in his dressing room. I wouldn’t go.’ 
Later in 2016, around the time that Kayne released the track “Famous” Kim posted a tweet saying “Wait its legit National Snake Day!? They have holidays for everything, I mean everything these days!” This was directed at Taylor due to a video that was released with Kanye on the phone with Taylor, getting permission to use the lyrics in his song.
