After the group play eight teams advanced to the knockout rounds. These games were played December 4th and December 5th. All of these games counted to the teams record so they were very meaningful, and to add to meaningfulness the winners of this earned 500,000 dollars for everyone on the roster. The games have been not like regular season but more like playoff games in December.
