This is the time of year when optimism is at its highest and everyone gets some holiday spirit. We’re still loading off our Thanksgiving feasts while eagerly awaiting Christmas and New Year’s. It is the time to listen to some of the classics and turn on the Holiday music where no one is sad listening to jingle bells and Feliz Navidad. It builds up our anticipation of the season. This is also the time of relaxation. The cold air invites us to stay inside under our blankets and cozy up next to others, while watching some Holiday classics. We can also enjoy our indulgences, everyone has a guilty pleasure that always comes up around this time and they just can’t get enough. There is no better time to enjoy guilt free, the New Years resolutions start after. Allowing plenty of time to get all our pleasures in. Worry about the gym after now it’s time to party.
If you’re the outdoorsy type but think snow is a restriction, think again. Summer is not the only season to have fun outside. It can be as simple as building a classic snowman, having a snowball fight and sledding. Specifically for us Coloradans we have the mountains to west that only add to the holiday spirit and enjoyment. Like to hike? Well there’s snowshoes! Colorado offers numerous ski resorts, pick one and get out there. Even if that isn’t you’re thing, take a drive up to a mountain and enjoy all that they have to experience. They really decorate and go all out for the Holiday season. It is vital that we flip the narrative of these weeks being something that we need to get past. As we age we need to cling to the season the most we can and realize that this can be a time to experience the many things to do before its New Years and we have to wait a year for it to come back around.
