A fight card that was supposed to be headlined by two of the respective greatest of all time, has now changed into a war of two gladiators. Objectively the greatest mixed martial arts fighter of all time Jon Jones tore his pec during his training camp on his way to fight the greatest heavyweight of all time Stipe Miocic. The old Co-Main event between #1 ranked light-heavyweight Jiri Prochazka and #3 ranked Alex Pereira for the light heavyweight title is now the main event, and although I’m not as thrilled for this fight as having Jones vs. Miocic, this is still not a bad replacement and is going to be an all out war in the cage.
Now time for my predictions. For my predictions, I’ll be starting with the first Main Card fight of the night working all the way up to the main event fight. This is my personal opinion and I could be very wrong on all of these predictions so do what you will with this.
Diego Lopes vs. Pat Sabatini:
I don’t know much about either of these fighters but I do believe Diego Lopes will end up winning this fight. If Sabatini tries to keep this fight on his feet Lopes will absolutely dominate in my opinion as Sabatinis standup is lackluster. Even if Sabatini tries to grapple I believe Lopes Jiu-Jitsu and ground game will be just as good if not better than his. I don’t really see a reason for Lopes to be the underdog in this fight but any way it goes I’m taking Lopes.
Matt Frevola (14) vs. Benoit Saint-Denis
Now this fight should be an all out battle. I think I slightly give the edge to Saint-Denis in this fight and its all about attitude. Saint-Denis is absolutely insane in the cage and has derailed many on the come up fighters making a big name for himself. He was even able to completely break Thiago Moises by putting him in an all out battle earning him the nickname “God of War”. On the other hand there is an elite striker in Matt Frevola we know he has power and the “God of War” might not be able to strike with Frevola and wear him out like he has done in previous fights. One good shot from Frevola and this fight could be over, most recently beating and cracking the chin of Drew Dober which many thought he could never do.
Jessica Andrade (5) vs. Mackenzie Dern (7)
I’m gonna keep this one short because I don’t know much anything about women’s MMA but I believe Andrade will win this fight.
Sergei Pavlovich (2) vs. Tom Aspinall (4)
Now I am absolutely thrilled for this fight. You have two elite heavyweight strikers who are truly the best of the best at what they do. Pavlovich has been on a roll absolutely obliterating and breaking all the opponents he has recently fought. Nobody really wants to fight this powerhouse Russian with ability to end a fight in the blink of an eye. On the other hand you have Tom Aspinall who is a very complete fighter that can also strike extremely well. Aspinall looked incredible in his first fight back after his injury knocking out Marcin Tybura in just 1 minute and 15 seconds. I believe Aspinall will give Pavlovich his toughest challenge yet and come out on top with the heavyweight belt.
Jiri Prochazka (1) vs. Alex Pereira (3)
The main event. This fight is going to be a must watch for sure. You have two absolute warriors going at it in the cage and realistically anything can happen. The only issue with this fight is Jiri Prochazka coming off what was called “The worst shoulder injury we’ve ever seen. ” Pereira has been blazing hot this year holding the middleweight belt and then moving up to light heavyweight and defeating Jan Blachowicz. He has the best kickboxing in the UFC and could put you out with one shot with his powerful precise striking. On the other hand Prochazka has the most unique style in MMA making him super unpredictable and giving stylistic problems to everyone he has fought. Prochazka is extremely balanced but also has very high level kickboxing. Even with the shoulder injury I am going to take the underdog Jiri Prochazka to win this fight and reclaim the light heavyweight belt.
Tune in to watch these fights on Saturday, November 11th at 8:00 P.M. because anything could happen and your bound to catch some extremely competitive fights.
