With six teams on a bye in Week 7, names like Christian McCaffrey and Justin Fields suffering injuries in Week 6, and season low scoring across the NFL last week, many fantasy managers have found themselves looking for sleeper options to put into play in the future. So, here are four potential pickup options for Week 7 that might still be available in your league.
- Sam Howell (Wsh QB) – Coming into the season, predictions saw Howell as a bottom half quarterback in the league. So far, he is the 13th best scoring quarterback in fantasy football and this week he will face off against one of the worst-rated defenses in the league in the New York Giants. He is predicted to have 15.6 points on Sunday (via ESPN Fantasy), which could be an underestimation considering the Giants tendencies this season.
- Jordan Love (GB QB) – In Weeks 1-4, Love proved incredibly strong, averaging over 20 points. In week five however, he threw three interceptions and no touchdowns, coming out with only five fantasy points and a loss to the previously 1-3 Raiders. After a bye in Week 6, many experts predict Love to come back strong with potentially another 20 point performance.
- Jaleel McLaughlin (Den RB) – After having all three Denver running backs in the mix last week against the Chiefs, McLaughlin proved steady taking the most snaps amongst the Broncos’ split backfield, but was only good for 6.2 fantasy points. Through six weeks he averages 8.1 points, and is only rostered in 45.2% of fantasy leagues (ESPN). Although he hasn’t shown major production yet, he may be valuable as a depth asset for fantasy teams lacking an RB3.
- Cade Otton (TB TE) – This is a very deep sleeper pick that is definitely a gamble for those considering taking action. However, Otton last week ran 37 routes and was just targeted twice. He’s on the field for a significant amount of plays already, so future shifts in receiving roles for the Bucs could favor Otton.
