Baseball playoffs are almost finishing up, with 4 teams remaining. The Philadelphia Phillies currently have a 2-0 lead against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Texas Rangers have a 2-0 lead over defending champs, the Houston Astros. The Phillies currently have the best odds to win the world series at +110, followed closely by the Rangers at +130. Last series, the Phillies took down the Atlanta Braves, my pick to win the world series. The bats were red hot on Tuesday in Philadelphia, with Kyle Schwarber hitting two single run moon shots last night to power Philidelphia to a 10-0 win. He’s received plenty of help from recent Birthday Boy Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, and Nick Castellanos, who each have multiple home runs all throughout the playoffs.
The Rangers have been holding their own very well against the defending champs, with great help from stars Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, and Adolis Garcia. Both teams taking a 2-0 lead in a 7 game series is very advantageous. The Astros and Rangers play today and tomorrow at 6:03, and the Phillies and Diamondbacks play tomorrow at 3:07. It will be interesting to see if the Diamondbacks look to continue their success, as they swept the Dodgers in their previous series.
Between Wednesday and Thursday, the Astros have tied the series at 2-2, and the Diamondbacks walked it off against Philidelphia to cut it to a 1-2 series lead thanks to Ketel Marte. Today, Friday, both games square off, with Astros and Rangers playing at 3:07 and the Phillies and Diamondbacks playing at 6:07. With Astros Ace, Justin Verlander on the bump, the Astros are looking to make it three straight wins. The Phillies putting up one run is rather out of the ordinary, so they’re looking to get back on track and get the bats going and take a commanding 3-1 lead tonight.
