Terror struck in Israel at 6:30 a.m. on October 7th. An estimated 2,200 rockets were fired towards central Israel in a missile strike by the United States designated terrorist organization Hamas. This stems from the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine and the surrounding Islamic nations.
Armed Hamas troops stormed the Gaza Strip attacking and killing hundreds of innocent civilians and kidnapping many more. Videos have surfaced of many women and children being taken hostage by the Hamas terrorists.
In one of the first public messages released the Israel Defense Forces stated, “Over the past hour, the Hamas terrorist organization launched massive barrages of rockets from Gaza into Israel, and its terrorist operatives have infiltrated into Israel in a number of different locations in the south.”
Shortly after the attack the Hamas militant leader took responsibility of the attack saying, “the Zionist colonial occupation occupied our Palestinian homeland and displaced our people, destroyed our towns and villages, committed hundreds of massacres against our people, killing children, women and elderly people and demolishing homes with their inhabitants inside in violation of all international norms, laws and human rights conventions.”
Israel was quick to respond and declared war against Hamas launching fighter jets and bombings of their own into the Gaza Strip. The United States is closely monitoring the situation but it will be extremely difficult to come to a conclusion about what to do without a speaker of the house.
The fighting has continued to rage on with more and more videos of these heinous crimes being released by Hamas. They are also now threatening execution of the hostages they have if Israel does not stop their counter-attacks putting the country in a bad situation of not knowing what to do.
