The 3-1 Cowboys and undefeated 49ers faced off Sunday Night this past weekend in the Bay. The two teams have a heated rivalry, with an all time record of 19-19-1. Brock Purdy diced up the elite Dallas defense, tossing four touchdowns in the win. Three of these touchdowns going to tight end George Kittle. Purdy silenced all the critics, continuing the undefeated regular season stretch for the 49ers.
They continue their NFC dominance, and are the favorites to win the Super Bowl by a wide margin. Kyle Shanahan’s long stinted success was prolonged after trading for Christian McCaffrey last year, as he has a touchdown streak of 14 games. The mass array of weapons Purdy has at his disposal leads to some skepticism for critics; however, Purdy has proven that he can read and process defenses at a high level, and deliver the ball in an excellent fashion.
Mr. Irrelevant, the last pick in the 2022 draft, is on a very cheap contract and does not seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. The former Iowa State quarterback has drawn comparisons to Steve Young and Joe Montana, former 49er quarterbacks and Hall of Famers.
It will be fun to see how long the 49ers are able to keep this win streak alive, as they are favored in every game the rest of the season, with the closest game being against the last undefeated team in the league: the Eagles. These two juggernauts face each other on December 3rd, but until then there does not seem to be a game that Brock Purdy won’t be able to lead his team over. Only time will tell to see how long this dominance will last.
