After a 5 year hiatus, she took the nation by storm, a “perfect storm”.
In 2018, with a big reputation, Taylor Swift toured the world on her iconic reputation Stadium Tour. With 53 shows and $345.7 million grossed, reputation marked Swift’s most successful tour to date.
During her time away from touring, she gave her Swifties Lover, folklore, evermore, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version) and her most recent album, Midnights. The compilation of albums showcase her musical range and genre switch.
When Taylor announced her return to the road, The Eras Tour was scheduled to hit the road March 2023, starting off in Glendale, Arizona and wrapping it up in Los Angeles, California with six shows. This tour is special, “a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!),” Swift continued, “And I have some brilliant opening acts coming along with me. And really, I’m just so excited that I get to look you guys in the eye and say thank you for everything”. Taylor partnered with Ticketmaster’s Verified fan program so that loyal fans of 17 years were ensured tickets to experience every era of her one of a kind music career.
From the moment tickets went on sale, the Eras Tour broke Ticketmaster. The average resale ticket price for the Eras Tour is $3,801, a 2,321% increase from Swift’s previous reputation Tour average resale ticket price of $157. But these fans were dedicated–each and every show on the US leg of The Eras Tour was sold out, regardless of insane ticket prices. And, if fans could not get their hands on tickets, they made sure to not miss out. Not only did Taylor perform to sold out stadiums every weekend, she was also performing to the thousands of ticketless fans outside of the stadium.
With The Eras Tour boasting a whopping $2.2 billion in concert revenue, Swift has asserted herself on a short list of must-see entertainers. When The Eras Tour hits the road internationally in 2024, Swifites worldwide will be enchanted to experience what the US has already had.
